| I first saw Naama’s objects here. She designs furniture using disposed objects. “Initially I decided to explore my surroundings and search for disposed objects as the base materials for my work. I was wandering around the city, visiting construction sites and peeking into containers. In my expedition I discovered that people throw away objects not only because they are broken or damaged but also because of the desire to renew and refresh their environment. These, I thought were wonderful working materials.” I look forward to see her next invention… You can get in touch with Naama here: futermannaama {at} hotmail {dot} com |
| What do you think about Nava’s use of textures? The raw materials she uses are vintage chains found in flea markets and taken apart from antique jewelry. I’m so glad she quit her day job as a fashion designer! You can get in touch with Nava here: navaglazer {at} bezeqint {dot} net |
| Inbal is a student at the Industrial Design Department of Holon Institute of Technology. Her project participated in the “It’s Aperitivo Time” designboom competition. When asking Inbal about the concept she answered: “I tried to get the essence of the tradition aperitif. In Italy, the aperitif is traditionally a drink with a small snack. It is not just food or a drink but a combination of both so I looked for a way to homogeneously combine them”. What can I say, I heart those plates! | Tal Mor and Shlomi Azulay say that they aspire to create useful objects which are also aesthetic, innovative and carefully detailed. Well, I think they have done just that with those Salt & Pepper shakers. The silicone coating wraps a plastic container which holds the salt. Squeezing the shaker reveals the holes. LOVE IT! {DesignBreak found DAG here}

| I asked Avigail what inspires her and she said that her inspiration comes from lots of sources: “As a graduate of the Department of Archeology of the Hebrew University I’m drawn to a lot of historical periods. Two of my favorite periods are the classical periods of Greece and Rome and you can see the Greek goddess in my designs. The world of fairytales is another source of inspiration for me. I aspire to design jewelry that fairies and princesses throughout the galaxy will wear themselves. {DesignBreak found Avigail here}

| Clocks are objects measuring time. This Thursday, TALIN’S Gallery will display a serie of clocks from the graduates of the Jewelry and Fashion Department of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design. Each graduate re-assembled the clock by his or hers interpretation, challenging the way time is conceived and displayed. Here is a sneak preview, I hope you will like it as much as I do. {TALIN’S web site is hebrew friendly}

| The two sisters know what rocks! When thinking about their line, Rahya and Meital came up with a way of being eco friendly. The winter accessories were created out of the materials left behind after they finished cutting all the clothes {The girls have a clothing line as well}. | Tutti {it means “my strawberry” in Hebrew} knows how to touch my soul. Even though I’m a city girl I find myself drawn to her Urban-Country conflict using both modern digital media and classic materials as pencil, ink, old paper and vintage textures. I found an interview with Tutti that you can read here And you should definitely visit her Etsy shop.
