World Break | Yoon Jung Yun | Inner Message

A few years ago a Korean singer wrote a song about the sunburn mark that he found on his finger after he broke up with his girlfriend and removed a ring he had been wearing for a long time. This is the story that inspired Jungyun Yoon to make “Inner message”.
I admit… I have a person in mind that I would love to give him this ring… September 2nd would be the right date for me ;)
You can buy your loved one, one of these presous ring, right here.

World Break | Karen Barbe | Perfection All The Way

If there is one feed I look forward to every time I open my google reader is one by the extraordinary Karen Barbe!
Since I discovered her colorful world, I can say that my world is brighter. Keren’s design esthetic’s is the one to beat. Lots of white spaces, grays, the right colors and minimal patterns!
Keren’s flickr page is full of stunning pictures and documentation of her work process. Yummy!

World Break | Haoshi Design Studio | Look Around

Griffin Yang and Cheney Tseng aka Haoshi Design Studio make the most hilarious designs I ever seen. But at the same time each piece is wearable and elegant in it’s own way. I love the whiteness of the concrete… It adds some kind of purity vibe.
BTW, Haoshi means good things in Chinese.

World Break | Karuna Balloo | Sea of Flowers

  • Hawaiian wedding
  • Winter in my garden
  • Be my baby
  • So nice
If there is a reason for me to learn French it is in order to get inside Karuna Balloo’s head so I can read her thoughts!
I’m sure a lot is going on there, with all the magnificent colors, fabrics and songs that she keeps on humming all day long.
Thanks to google translator I learned that Karuna names each of her creation by the name of her favorite songs.

Vacation Time

I have exciting days ahead of me. This weekend I’ll be relaxing, tanning and drinking lots of mojitos at a lovely hotel in Eilat, which is in the south of Israel.
And just hours after I get back to the city, I’ll be on my way to Cluj, Romania for my little brother graduation ceremony.
But don’t you worry, I decided to leave you all with few of my favorite designers from all over the globe.
I hope you’ll like the tour around the world I prepared just for you ;)
Till next week,
XXX

NORITAMY | Asymmetrical Vibe

  • Bangle | Nails Collection
  • Ring | Sparkle Collection
  • Neck piece | Nuggets Collection
  • Bangles | Nails Collection
When you take two creative minds like mother and daughter, Tammar Edelman and Elinor Avni, you get each and every time surprisingly stunning collections!
Sculptured jewelry gets a whole new meaning in Noritamy’s 2010 summer collection.
For sure, the nails collection is my favorite. I love the simplicity, transparency and movement in it.
Which one is your favorite?
BTW, if you want to refresh your memory, you can peak here at the girl’s previous collection.

Me-Dusa | Your Next Plastic Clutch

If you live here in Israel, there is no way you could miss Me-Dusa’s plastic madness. The girls, Gili Rozin and Adi Singfer, who graduated only last year from the Jewelry Design Department of Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, know how to rock it!
One of my first posts here at DesignBreak was the graduation project of Gili, called Music Box. In a way, it feels like closure to me. This is the early bird from their latest collection… I can’t wait to see what they will come up with. You can read a Hebrew friendly interview with the girls here.
BTW, Me-Dusa means Jellyfish in Hebrew.

Vered Tandler Dayan | Inspired By Movement

  • Black & White Collection
  • Black & White Collection
  • Red Plates Collection
  • Black & White Collection
  • A Rose is A Rose is A Rose
“Inspired by movement throughout my career as a dancer and a video editor, I have found personal expression with clay and through the wheel.
I came across ceramics by chance and quickly was absorbed by the activity that actually fuses all the fields I was previously engaged in. Movement, breathing, rhythm and intuition are my tools, along with technique.”
What can I say, I’m moved by Vered’s way of choosing to follow her heart with movement and simplicity in mind.

Ayanaki | Ayana Nissan | Colorful Touch

  • Line Dolls
  • Summer Dolls
Last week I ran into Ayanaki’s printed dolls. I have to admit that those dolls melted my heart! Ayana says that by making those dolls she is mixing two of her favorite love, illustration and sewing. You should take a closer look at those lined dolls… I love the way Ayana uses those lines!
Her Flickr page can be your color fix of the day.
BTW, one of Ayana’s favorite illustrators is the talented Yoko Furusho.
Ayana, Thank you for this one!
As you can see I love finding out about designer’s inspiration. I’d love to hear about yours as well.
