Noga is a 2010 graduate of the Industrial Design Department of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.
Her “Tunnels – Encompassing Furniture” is a series of furniture that explore private places inside of household furniture. “Just as a cat seeks out hiding places or small spaces to slip into, I wanted to create furniture that can encompass all or parts of the human body. I created human-scale objects that can be used for lying down, sitting and storage.”
One of Noga’s main influences for this project was the Danish designer Ditte Hammerstrom.

Gal Shkedi | Character Design 101

When you put together grays and yellows you get my ultimate color palette. The other day, at one of my regular visit to Gal’s flickr page I ran into Roomiez.com animation.
It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Gal Shkedi’s characters design and this time with the help of Idan Vardi they came up with this lovely creation.

When I stumble upon an exciting typography project it makes my day. That was the case when I came across Tal Margalit and Ellia Nattel’s “Tickette”.
The two came up with two collections: the word charm Collection which is a jewelry that literally defines itself and the doodle jewelry which is a jewelry that captures the spirit of hand drawn doodles.

Asaf Weinbroom | Wood You?

I’m not a big fan of wooden objects, but Asaf’s light fixtures made me reconsider.
Maybe it’s just me, but I saw a little creature in each of the pieces.
It made me fall in love with them.
If we have to return to reality “Asaf’s decision to use wood, a renewable resource, creates a sense of natural one-of-a-kind look, warmth, and most importantly emphases high-end handmade craftsmanship. This is what gives the items a unique appearance, feeling and value.”

“In my work I tried to create a playful new and different eating ritual. I manipulated food products, observed the changes, restrained, exaggerated and finally refined a new aesthetic point of view.”

Michal Miller | Walk the walk

  • Skyline
I can’t believe that I’m actually saying this but even here, in the hotter than hell Israel, it feels like the fall is a step away…
Michal’s nude “skyline boots” made me consider saying goodbye to summer…
Oh, and I have to admit that nude is my favorite trend by far.
You can refresh your memory about Michal’s previous collection right here.

OverLock | Rotem Rylski | Made with love

Lately I find myself daydreaming about my childhood and the memories from back then. Rotem’s story touched a soft spot right there and then.
“Few years ago I found a suitcase full of cloth leftovers at my grandma’s closets, for some reason I just couldn’t throw them away (in psychology that’s called “Attachment”, when you can’t say goodbye to an object). I started reading about the “Attachment Theory” which led me to make these adorable creatures…”.

Student Break | Orly Montag | Made Of China

Orly is a 2010 Graduate of the Ceramics and Glass Department of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.
Orly’s 105 creatures are all about industrial duplication and the world of singular art. “Consumerism that includes mass production, led me to explore the possibilities that come from combining a mass produced product and a singular work of art. The process tries to define an infinite circle, that begins with the artist and his momentary creation steps to the industrial world and back to the artist whilst testing my identity as an artist and designer in the ceramics field”.

Shana Tova ve Metuka

Today we celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year.
I wish you all a year full with beauty, excitements, creations, inspiration, joy and butterflies.

Student Break | Noa Himelfarb | Playing with dirt

Would you like to step back in time and play with dirt yourself? Noa surely thought it would be an exiting thing to do and I have to agree with her.
Her animals caught my attention at the first sight. “MuZoo are toy animals made of soil with accessories that distinguish and enhance the characters. It renews the interaction with natural materials and turns soil into a toy”.
BTW, Noa is a 2010 graduate of the Industrial Design Department of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.

Carla Reichman | Take a Bow

The previous collection was all about butterflies. This time it’s all about “bows, ties and heartstrings”. What can I say, bows work for me any day of the year so… Carla definitely won me over with her lovely and right on point details.
