  • UME | Body chain
  • CHRISTOPHE | Shoulder piece
  • ABEE | Multi layer chain ring
  • JENA | Shoulder piece
  • FREYA | Double band drapped chain ring
Oh my, draping chains, that’s a first for me. What a brilliant idea. I’m not I’m the right gal to work this look but I sure wish I could.
“Each piece of the Ten Collection is a unique sculpture for the body that reflects the lifestyles of those who arent afraid to push boundaries. Armor Jewelry is a hybrid of soft, subtle draping and a mix of sexy chain materials.”

NY Break | Alyssa Ettinger | Milky world

  • Porcelain Knitwear Collection | Vase | Flat Mod Cable
  • Glow Collection | Mason Jar Hurricane Lantern
  • Milk Collection | Bottle Vases
  • Porcelain Knitwear Collection | Slip-Cast Cups
The first time I laid my eyes on Alyssa’s milky world was while visiting the Brooklyn Flee a year ago. I kept my fingers crossed but didn’t find her there this time. Alyssa has this amazing ability to turn each vessel into piece of art!
Her textile-inspired knitwear collection is one of my all time favorite and don’t let me start talking about the milk bottles, heaven!
Alyssa’s Etsy shop is right around the corner.

NY Break | HapticLab | Emily Fischer | Map your hood

  • Baby Quilt | Prospect Park Brooklyn
  • Readymade Soft Map | Williamsburg, Brooklyn
  • Readymade Soft Map | Washington D.C.
  • Readymade Soft Map | Central Park detail | Wollman Rink and Children's Zoo
NYC is the only place I can find my way around in a heart beat. Once I buy my weekly MetroCard I’m good to go but the minute I get back home even fifty GPS navigators won’t help me.
HapticLab’s soft map is the perfect addition to my fall mode. All I need is to choose one of the NYC Neighborhood blankets and I’m set.
What can I say, as someone who loves using map grids in her designs, HapticLab map is a must for me.
You can read an interview with Emily right here.

NY Break | Here we go again…

  • ASTOR PLACE, Coco, Freelance Travel Writer
Sorry for not posting much last week. Now, after a few days in bed, I’m as good as new with an exciting NY Break week. Other than that, my Bday is coming later this week so stay tuned for a personal treat ;)

“Downtown from behind” is my new photo blog crush.
“NYC. Every street below 14th. Filmed and photographed. From behind, of you riding your bike.”
Natali, thank you for this one!

I’m back… Sort of…

Hello there my sweet readers.
It’s been an amazing week in the city of my dreams but with all the excitement I came back with a cold so…
I’ll leave you till next week or maybe tomorrow if I’ll feel any better.
Stay tuned for next week… I’ll be sharing with you my NY design crush.

Naomi Shiek | A walk in the woods

At this time of the year you can find lots of calendar design all over the blogosphere. I figured I’d share one of our own Israeli creation and add it to the wonderful variety out there. I’m talking about the calender made by the much talented Naomi Shiek whom I wrote about not long ago. Naomi creates each calendar by hand and as each sheet is turned, more of the papercut is revealed, like a walk through the woods. I’m so impressed by her devotion and her level of perfection!
If you want to know more about Naomi’s world of paper you can read it all here.

Kulla Design | Mix and Match

I’m all about experiences and new adventures, that’s why I get excited every time I witnesses a new design process. The kulla girls developed a new working process based on researching and combining two worlds of materials: sawdust and used polythalyn plastic bags.
“The ability to combine plastic waste and sawdust into a homogenous mixture, without the need for other connecting materials is the essence of our research.”
I love the final outcome… The mix of colors and the little typographic details.

Oded Ezer | Stained

Oded Ezer is my idol, there is no question about it!
He has this amazing ability to turn even the most common high heels into a work of art. I’m not that into heels but this pair would be a perfect fit to my shoe collection. Just for the sake of me staring at them 24/7.
BTW, Oded’s shoes are part of an exhibition that deals with the shoe as a raw material and as a work of art, just like Yaara Keydar’s shoes that I wrote about before.

Raw-Edges | Fold your tile

If it was up to me, I’d write a weekly post about Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay aka Raw-Edges. I wish I could be a fly on their studio wall.
Their latest creation is a series of bathroom tiles for the Italian manufacturer Mutina. The guys reproduced the effect of folded paper on ceramics. What a brilliant idea!
BTW Shay, love your campers ;)

Castro | Knitting Tel Aviv

Oh my, I’m in love with the cutest and sweetest commercial ever by Castro, which is called Hot Cardigans.
Usually I don’t tend to get excited by commercials but this one touched a soft spot and I had to share it with you all. Even though it seems like fall is not that close, the castro team made me feel it’s just around the corner.

  • Domina Shelf
Shay Carmon and Ben Klinger “don’t want to make the world a better place. We want to make it more interesting” and there sure do!
The guys designed a series of shelves with a twist. Not your ordinary place to lean your books on but rather a place for your favorite books will feel special and unique.
FYI, “Ve” means “And” in Hebrew.

“No place in the world that can compare”

It’s time to take a much needed vacation in the city that never ceases to amaze me.
You know the drill by now, each day a new post and in a week from today lots of new inspirations from my travels.
Till then,
xoxo

Student Break | Inbal Aderka | Watch it

Inbal is a 2010 graduate of the Industrial Design Department at Holon Institute of Technology.
I first laid my eyes on her plates.
Not long ago she wrote me about her graduation project that dealt with finding novel solutions for watches using inspiration from three basic materials: fabric, wood and plastic. As I’m all about the accessories, finding a unique piece is one of my life goals ;)
You’re probably laughing real hard right now… but I’m just being honest.

Yael Meltzer | Blooming Paperie

Oh my, a metal mash!
Yael makes it all seem so fragile and delicate.
I just love it when you come across a unique way of design! I wish I knew what the secret is behind this paperie vibe.
