Daniel Zelig | Fragile Chains

By now, you all know I’m weak when it comes to accessories and especially if it involves necklaces in all shapes and forms. I have no spine! Trust me, I know my weaknesses too well :)
I guess that’s way Daniel Zelig felt the urge to send over a sneak peek into her latest ceramic heaven. Don’t get me wrong, since I first stumbled upon her white and fragile world I’ve become one of Daniels biggest fans. While considering her next move, Daniel knew she is gunning for the wow factor (second time in a row:) and that’s exactly what she did! FYI, the collection is inspired by industrial chains and is called “Elements”.

Student Break | Tami Eshed | The Black Swan

From time to time I bump into an interesting design that I know nothing about. Who is the designer? Is it something that I can lay my hand on? and the list goes on and on. That was The case with the Rorschach mystery. While visiting the final critic show at Shenkar I found what I was looking for! You’ll hear a lot more about it in the coming weeks but till then, I had to share with you this creation by the young and bubbly Tami Eshed. We all know The Rorschach Test but for some reason, Tami’s take on it intrigues me. Hope you’ll like it as mush as I do. BTW, today I’m gonna see these beauties in person. Yay for me!

Don’t worry, i”ll get there sooner than later ;)
Don’t be afraid to show some love right here or even do some good right here.

Offbits | Roy Barazani | Robotic Kingdom

With all this heat, I need some cuteness to ease the pain ;)
Roy Barazani, the guy behind these robotic creatures had the perfect story in mind… “Babylonian Kingdom is an orderly and organized place: a city where well-programmed BITBOTS live a calculated life. Their ruler, BIGBOT, has ordered them to build a never-ending tower, as part of Babylon’s eternal quest to rule the sky.” So far, it all makes sense. right?
You should definitely check it out. I promise you, it will put a smile on your face in no time!

Carton | Rolling With The Board

There is this one store in Tel Aviv, which makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. So… it’s no surprise that it’s called by the name Delicatessen. On my last visit, I ran into some cardboard jewelries. cardboard jewelries! That’s what I just wrote. This brilliant concept is the swirly baby of Yael Gaizler, a fashion designer and Aviv Kinel, a jewelry designer who started rolling with their love for lace and crochet. They ended up with textured pieces that you can’t take your eyes away from. Trust me, I tried. If you want to find out more about this clever duo, head to their brand new Facebook Page.
BTW, “Carton” means “Cardboard” in Hebrew.

World Break | Coni Della Vedova | Spanish Colors

When Coni wrote me about her work, a few weeks ago, I was intrigued by the process behind the scenes and Coni was kind enough to share with us some pics. I love the fact that all of Coni’s work is being done by hand. It looks like you need some muscles to get the job done or as Coni likes to say “it’s the type of work that makes your hands hurt… but it gives you great joy after seeing the printed result!”
At this moment I’m loving Coni’s Do What You Love | Love What You Do print but there is a lot more where that came from at her etsy shop.

Eynat Klipper | Swimming Against the Flow

Another key player in Israel’s swimwear scene is Eynat Klipper. She draws her inspiration from family photos from the 50s and 60s. Eynat’s shapes and spot on colors create a beautiful complete package.
For this minimalistic journey Eynat teamed up with the genius photographer Sharon Derhy, who added her one of a kind point of view.
BTW, Thumbs up for Eynat for designing her own fabrics and producing it all locally. You can say these swim suits are 100% Israelis ;)

Ugly Duckling | Gal Angel | Qwack Qwack

I’m having hard time breathing. It’s 84°F outside! I wish I could live inside my refrigerator. Thinking about the right post for this hot weather I couldn’t have chosen anything other than the cool and watery photo shoot for Ugly Duckling‘s 2011 Swimwear collection. The master mind behind it all is Gal Angel, a girl with a nostalgic chic and a love for old times. While checking this colorful and fun collection, I fell in love with Noa Eisenschtat‘s ability to capture the right moment. I knew those two had a blast during the photo shoot. It shows!
Hope I helped you cool down ;)
Oh… happy summer, you guys!

Noga Weiss | Fragile Moon

How do you picture your moon?
For Noga Weiss the answer is really obvious. Her moon is made by ceramic molding. “This technology enables manufacture of a series cast from the same mold. After extraction from the basic mold, each item is easily changed to its desired design to give it unique character and grace.”
There are so many pictures and moons to choose from! I wish I could have posted all 101 pictures of these super minimalistic yet clever pieces.
Today is your lucky day, you can have your own moon at Noga’s Etsy shop.

Todo Joia | Iris Gartenbank | Back to Basics

Technically I know nothing about the mysterious designer behind “Todo Joia”. I can’t tell you how many times I asked Iris to share her creative world with me but the woman wanted to stay behind the shadows so… when I stumble upon her web site I couldn’t believe my eyes! Without further ado, I want to introduce to you the magical Iris Gartenbank.
The only thing I know for sure is that Iris took a beginners goldsmith class, one of those that the state provides and that’s all she needed. With only the basic techniques she comes up with the most intriguing jewels.

World Break | Paris vs NYC | Today It’s Defiantly Paris!

  • L'obsession
  • Le Métro
  • La Barbe
  • Le Café
  • Le Journal
  • Le Parking
You didn’t think I’ll let this day slip by without mentioning the Bastille Day, right? So… I am a bit conflicted when it comes to NYC vs Paris, someone who actually did something creative to help me! Well, creative is not the right word, lets try ah-mazing, wicked, smart, funny… you name it.
Are you a NYC or Paris person? I guess you have to take a side. Well, you know where I stand ;) I wrote about it not once but even twice but I still adore Paris.
Thank you Vahram Muratyan for your Frenchilicous creation.
Joyeux Quatorze Juillet!

Adi Zaffran | Bullet Time

Over a year ago, I wrote about Adi Zaffran’s Bullet rings. A year has gone by and Adi’s collection grew bigger.
“The rings that were created remove the bullet from its original function and they surprisingly turn into a bejeweled object and emphasize the beauty and aesthetics of the bullet when it is distanced from its surroundings. Every bullet retains memories and traces of the journey it underwent from the moment it was fired until it was picked up.”
I still have mixed emotions but… there is nothing wrong with controversy, right?
You can have your own Bullet Ring right here.

Lital Gold | Heaven On Earth

There is something quite intriguing and mysterious in Lital Gold’s never ending burst of colors and shadows. Since graduating last year from the Textile Design Department at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, Lital is in drive mode! She keeps on going and going and with each and every sketch I get another glimpse of her inner soul (quite deep, I know but… that’s the way I feel).
