Omer Inbar | Bug Light!
Bug Light by Omer Inbar is just hilarious!
There is nothing like giving your ordinary bulb a life of it’s own, and Omer just makes it work.
Even the tag line “your first pet lamp” is spot on.
It’s so ca-yu-te!

Student Break | Leetal Rivlin | Dancing With The Sand
At the beginning of the year, I wrote about Leetal Rivlin’s sandy bowls.
Fast forward and six months later, Leetal graduated out of the Industrial Design Department at the Holon Institute of Technology, with a bunch of super stunning bowls and vases down her sleeve. Since I last heard from her, Leetal kept on playing with sand and researched all that is beautiful and unique in the world that’s beneath our feet. Sandstone rocks, dunes, erosion of rocks and scale of colors. They all got a whole new representation in Leetal’s vessels. And all that is left to say is: there is a serious awesomeness all around this thing!

Yael and Tal | Sporty Snap Shots
I don’t know what about you, but I just love, love, love the Olympic Games! Well, don’t get me wrong here, I’m far from being your average sporty girl, but give me an hour or two watching the gymnastic super heroes of the world and I’ll be the happiest you’ll ever see. I can’t really explain it myself, but then again, who cares. So, with that being said, I just had to share with you Yael Serfaty and Tal Salomon‘s Olympic Snap Shots. There is something quite adorable about these sporty little creatures.
And on that note, #GoTeamIsrael! (I think I should embrace it as my new twitter hashtag ;)

Student Break | Sariel Keslasi | Fields of Needles
You guys, this animation made me miss a beat!
You only need a pencil in your hand and the right soundtrack and nothing more. Well, it won’t hurt to tell a little story along the way, but that’s it.
Sariel Keslasi, a recent grad from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, did just that. He made me appreciate all the little things that I tend to miss with all these larger than life creations.
I feel like I don’t need to say anything else at this point.
Oh just: Lights. Camera. Action!

Featured.Shopping Break| Handpicked by me.

I’ve been dreaming about this neon oversized bag by J.Crew for a while now. To be precise, it’s all I ever think about these days ;)
Yep, thats me, the superficial me. BUT it’s so pink and so me, that I just have to have it!
Time to go press on this add to cart button.

Have a neon weekend, my bright breakers!

A Loving Post Is a Paper Post
Back in May I asked my sweet friend Sivan, to act as my eyes and ears for a day at the NYC National Stationary Show, which I’ve been dreaming of going to. In this dreamy paper heaven, you can spot all the up and coming stars of stationary, and view all the new and exciting creations of the rock stars of this aesthetic world. Since I can’t pass an opportunity to add a piece of pretty paper or a fancy notebook to my massive collection, Sivan did that for me (I didn’t give her a choice:).
Rifle Paper Co. (my absolute fav), Alee & Press, Moglea, Paper Lovely, Pawling (to die for!) and Sugar Paper are just the tip of the iceberg!

Student Break | Miriam Sacks-Koschitzky | Home is Where Your Heart Is
It truly feels like Miriam Sacks-Koschitzky poured her heart and soul into her “Home” collection. As I was talking to Miriam, she kept telling me about how complicated and unsure she is (as most of us) with the meaning and baggage that comes with the word home. While going through her designs, I kept thinking to myself, that this young lady has a lot of courage. Dealing with this intense subject and coming up with the most sensitive and touching pieces, is not an easy thing to do! BTW, Miriam is a newly graduate of the Jewelry and Fashion Department at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.

Noga Berman | Wearable History
Although Noga Berman was trained as an industrial designer, it turns out that her true love lies in the world of jewelry making. Well, she grew up surrounded by jewelry and jewelers, with her parents being Nirit and Avi Berman. Over the years, Noga used to collect ceramic stones that she found in construction sites and these stones turned into her latest collection aka Construction Waste. Being able to see the beauty in the unattractive waste is a special gift and in her unique vision, Noa transforms a once unwanted waste into a piece of wearable history…

Gabriella Barouch | Illustrated City
There is no way I’ll miss an opportunity to write about the mad world of one special illustrator, that goes by the name Gabriella Barouch. Since graduating only last year, this energetic creature illustrates 24/7 and you can see her work EVERYWHERE (try googling her name, and you’ll see for yourself). Some smart people in Jerusalem chose Gabi as artist of the year and that’s why Gabi mapped the city and made her own illustrated journey diary. I’m super curious to see it all but until then, here is a sneak peek.
FYI, Gabi is also working with the Soul Royale gang on an animated treat, as part of her illustrated journey.
To be continued…

Ourit Ben-Haim | A New York Reading Maze
  • The History and Power of Writing by Henri-Jean Martin
  • Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson and Gabrielle Charbonnet
  • A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
  • The Random House Book of Opera Stories by Adele Geras
  • Sunday Morning Bible
  • Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
Whenever I visit NYC (and you know I have a thing for NY, right?), I’m amazed by the brilliant subway system. Maybe because here, it’s so damn complicated getting with public transportations. Anyways, I’m not complaining, I’m just mentioning it because I’m super excited about Ourit Ben-Haim’s Underground New York Public Library. Since 2008, Ourit is documenting the New Yorkers’ reading habits and it all comes together as a human library, which is both emotional and surprising at the same time!
It’s even makes things a little bit more real when you read her FAQ page.

I have a little game that I play inside my head, it’s called the iPad game. And if you ask yourself what’s it all about? Well, it’s just me trying to decide what will be it’s next shirt aka case. There is lots and lots to choose from but the pretty ones are hard to find. So you can trust me that I’m doing my very best to treat my sweet iPad, as a stylish human being and with that scary thought, here we go: 1.Baggu’s stripy sleeve makes me miss a beat, as stripes are my new everything. 2. Kate Spade’s polka dot sleeve feels so stylish and fancy 3. Anthropologie’s Still Life iPad case for the artsy me, but as of now I can only dream of this one as it costs small fortune…

Coral Cohen | It’s Alive!
Bactus is an attempt to raise Jewelry in biological means. Embedded in glass containers are bacterias and fungus that are growing and evolving constantly.”
What do you think about this crazy idea? At first I was’t sure what I was looking at and if I wanted to take a second look. BUT, there is something quite fascinating and enchanting in Coral’s rings… I’m happy to explore but at the same time I’m grateful that all these crazy creatures are behind glass doors ;)

  • Netta Ben Simoon . Wizo Haifa
Being able to experience the excitement and anticipation, that comes with fashion shows during graduate season, is new and unfamiliar territory to me. I have a feeling that my heart was pounding just as fast as the ones who were behind the curtains…
Here is a little sneak peek from my instagram feed of the shows I’ve attended at Shenkar College and Wizo Haifa.
Rest assured that you’ll be hearing a lot more about my findings real soon. Hope you don’t mind my grainy pictures… The models moved too fast for my iPhone ;)

Yael Meltzer | The Golden Dot
As I was growing up, gold was a big no no in my book. After many years of over looking it, I feel like I’m getting to know a new design partner ;)
Anyways, once I came across Yael Meltzer’s What’s Your Point collection I couldn’t ignore any more. There is something quite calm and beautiful in the way Yael chooses to connect the dots. The saying, “God is in the details”, is definitely the right one to describe this beauty!
The fact that one of my favorite photographers, Noa Kedmi, is the one behind the lens, gives it all an extra special minimal touch.

Student Break | And the Winner is… Mark Goldenberg
Listen Up, you guys!
I’m super excited to share with you the news that made my day.
Here goes: the uber talented designer, Mark Goldenberg, just won the ITS 2012 VOGUE TALENTS and the Avery Dennison Brand Innovation awards with his Woven Bird graduate collection. Mark, a 2011 graduate of the Fashion Design Department at Shenkar College, is here to stay, no doubt about it. The question is, who will be the lucky designer who will snag him and put his wings around him. Anyways, lately Mark answered a bunch of questions and you can read it all right here.
