Lital Gold | Illustrated Thoughts
Since I first met Lital Gold a lot has changed. Lital has moved to Philadelphia where she works as a textile designer for Free People (!!!) and I… well you know where I am. I’ve been following her ink-y foot steps for more than two years and one thing hasn’t change, her ability to put a smile on my face the minute I stumble into one of her colorful and lively illustrations. I won’t exaggerate if I say that I wish for one of her magical illustrations to appear in my instagram feed whenever I open it. Lately she re-designed her site and it’s a perfect opportunity to show you some of her latest dreamy yet complicated work.

With so many new and exciting things to come this year (Hi, 2013!) let me introduce you to My February Illustrated Break, created by the ever inspiring textile designer and illustrator extraordinaire, Miss Lital Gold. Back in June 2012 Lital shared with us what goes on inside her head while illustrating. This time with her brand new illustrated dancing penguins I have a feeling we are on a more optimistic path!
Each month a new Desktop wallpaper will be up for grabs for you to download and jazz up your computer.

I’ve never met someone quite like Lital Gold. This lady can draw even with her eyes closed. I kid you not! Lital and her daydreaming girl is my June Illustrated Break. “Design Break for me is a sudden realization, when I hold on to one little moment in time and can see through it. That’s when everything is allowed and possible and I can dream, play, change things and enjoy…”

Lital Gold | Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Communication. Connection. Link. Relation. Relationship. Contact. Bond. Loop. Tie. Knot. All these words are the equivalent of the Hebrew word “Kesher”, which is also the tittle of Lital Gold’s first solo exhibition at the Urban Inc HQ in Philadelphia. I have a feeling it’s not a coincidence that in her first exhibition, Lital deals with lots of emotions about leaving home and moving to the other side of the world, to pursue her dream job as a designer at Free People.
Lital is one of those, who eats drinks and sleeps design. Sometimes it feels like she keeps on illustrating in her sleep and I bet it’s also when all her ideas come to life.

Lital Gold | Heaven On Earth

There is something quite intriguing and mysterious in Lital Gold’s never ending burst of colors and shadows. Since graduating last year from the Textile Design Department at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, Lital is in drive mode! She keeps on going and going and with each and every sketch I get another glimpse of her inner soul (quite deep, I know but… that’s the way I feel).
