With a brand new web site and an under the sea inspired new collection, Kobi Levi’s sculptural shoes are my guilty pleasure. There is no chance I’ll be able to pull it off but I can star for very long time. The good news is, now you can add these masterpieces to your very own shoe collection which I know exists. Oh, and there is something just for you brave gents out there.

Back in 2010 I wrote about an intriguing graduate, who goes by the name Shany Pri-Ness. Her “Teeth and Nails” hair clips were memorable enough for me to keep checking up on her till death do us part… While writing Shany and asking her to share with me her latest venture I wasn’t expecting what I saw… come to think of it, I actually can see the link between the two creations. Shany’s “Predators” merge, kiss, conquer each other and above all create their own world. A world where the rules are different from the ones we know. This super cool chick has a wicked mind, which I LOVE!

Communication. Connection. Link. Relation. Relationship. Contact. Bond. Loop. Tie. Knot. All these words are the equivalent of the Hebrew word “Kesher”, which is also the tittle of Lital Gold’s first solo exhibition at the Urban Inc HQ in Philadelphia. I have a feeling it’s not a coincidence that in her first exhibition, Lital deals with lots of emotions about leaving home and moving to the other side of the world, to pursue her dream job as a designer at Free People.
Lital is one of those, who eats drinks and sleeps design. Sometimes it feels like she keeps on illustrating in her sleep and I bet it’s also when all her ideas come to life.

Is it strange that I still love balloons altough I’m not six year old? I hope the answer is no ;)
While visiting The FAD Pop-Up Shop, I fell head over heals with the most amazing ceramic balloons by Sivan Sternbach. Sivan shared with me that it all began as a gesture to Eran Shakine’s bronze balloon that she owns. Since then and many balloons later, Sivan uses different kinds of clays and has fun sculpting away balloons in all shapes and forms.

For some reason, DesignBreak became a little bit more artsy this week…
As I mentioned, yesterday I visited the pop-up shop FAD and boy I was blown away by the mad talent!
One of the ceramists that made me smile from ear to ear was Yulia Tsukerman and her Vanitas world. It’s been a while since I was moved by a ceramic creation and I’ve been looking for “the next big thing” in the ceramic world. I know I’m using big words but I feel like there is a lot more where this mysterious beauty came from.
FYI, “Vanitas” is the Latin word stands for “Emptiness”.

I haven’t been excited about an event for a while… but there is something about FAD which is opening tonight that makes me feel like a little girl!
Maybe it’s the fact that I hope to finally meet some of my favorite industrial designers face to face (if I don’t freeze and find the right words) or the fact that I can’t wait to discover some new designers that I haven’t heard of before… I’m pretty sure I’ll mention this FAD a lot more in the near future but until then, let me leave you with Mishmaacool and Tag.me.no “Get a Bit of Reality” Dino table lamp.
