Iris Zohar is a women of many faces. I wrote about her more than once but this time I must admit, I wasn’t expecting this project…
Her “TableWare” blurs the line between the tableware and the surface on which they are laid out. The way the tableware gently pours itself into the surface is beautiful!

I first saw this concrete show stopper at Sotheby’s “Dream Objects”, a contemporary Israeli design selling exhibition, which took place last October. There were many “dream furnitures” in this expo and I’m sure you’ll be hearing about them here soon.

Time 02 | Jerusalem Calling | Young Fever

The time has come and Time 02 is here for another round. Starting today till Friday you can visit the work of 12 young and super enthusiastic designers. The main theme behind the exhibition is “On The Double”. I’m curious about the location of this expo at the “Hansen Hospital”, which used to serve as a leprosarium.
Well, there is so much to tell so… if you happen to be in Israel, you should use the opportunity to see it all for yourself. FYI, the curator behind this mega important tradition is Tal Gur and the artistic production is by Prime. Total product design.

Israeli Glass 2011 | See Trough Stories

Last week I visited the “Israeli Glass 2011″ exhibition. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect but… I was blown away by the mad talent! So many brilliant and out of the box ideas executed beautifully and with a sensitive eye for the smallest details.
I have to mention Roi Carmeli’s “One Game Only” video. You have to spare 02:13 minutes of you time. Trust me, you’ll thank me later!
Oh… and the mastermind behind it all is the curator Henrietta Eliezer Brunner.

Sivan Royz | Blooming Structures at Dezeen Space

As we speak Sivan Royz is showcasing her “Blooming Structures” at the Dezeen Space‘s month-long residency in Shoreditch.
I’m SO excited for this sweet and so talented young designer.
If you happen to be in London today, you should visit. There is nothing like experiencing Sivan’s drop dead gorgeous accessories in person.

New Olds | A Traveling Blog

Last week I visited the traveling exhibition new olds. Design between Tradition and Innovation at Design Museum Holon, which was curated by Volker Albus. The variety of the exhibits made me think about it a long after I left. The fact that a bunch of recently graduated Israeli designers were displaying their work made me feel at home. With the exhibition comes a traveling blog. You should definitely check it out. It’s my kind of design break.

Tomorrow is a very special day! Some of my all time favorite designers are visiting Paris. They come all the way from Tel Aviv for a four day celebration of Israeli design, the pop up way. “Rafsoda invites the public to embark on an astonishing journey to the new frontiers of Israeli design innovation, featuring events that include the opportunity to meet many of the store’s exceptional design talents, participating for the first time at Designer’s days Paris.”
In a way, it feels like it’s a DesignBreak celebration with some very good freinds like: Maya Shalev, Studio Ve, Kozo Lamp, Groupa Studio, Me-Dusa…
