For his Winter 2012 collection, my favorite shoe designer aka Oded Arama, decided to go back to black with his unisex “emotions” collection.
You all know Oded as the one responsible for the oh so colorful shoes but this time it’s like we experience a more serious side of this super unique designer. Don’t you worry, as Oded likes to spice things up in each and every design, there are still pops of colors. As you all know, I despise winter but with these shoes I think things will be tolerable (I only say that beacuse summer is just around the corner).
In other exciting news, Oded just opened his own ASOS boutique.

World Break | Eleanor Bolton | Stitching a Black Trail
  • Atlas Necklace
  • Two Tone Necklace | Spectra, Coiled and Two Tone Bangles
  • Half Atlas Necklace
  • Nystron Necklace | Half Coil Necklace
  • Spectra Four Necklace
One of my favorite posts last year was the one I wrote about Eleanor Bolton’s gigantic necklaces and bangles. Maybe the fact that my friend Sharon wanted to book the very first flight to London in order to buy one of them has something to do with it ;) Anyways, Since then I’ve been waiting impatiently for Eleanor to release to the world her new stitched work of art. The time has finally come and I just had to share it! This time Eleanor “is taking inspiration from nautical themes, she uses the hardware found on these vessels as her guiding point, from luxury yachts to the simple rowing boat.”

Student Break | Yael Reshef | After ParTEA
After ParTEA. Such a brilliant tittle for a beautiful collection! Yael Reshef, a 2011 graduate of the Fashion Design Department at Shenkar College flew under my radar but luckily I found her.
Yael began her journey with the English afternoon tea ceremony and the blue glazed porcelain tableware that is identified with it. I’ve already seen porcelain being used as an accessory before, but there is something quite unique and pure in the way Yael used it as her main element. Sometimes you should let the material do the talking…
Speaking of tea time, did you hear about this place? I need to go there…

World Break | Maria Piana | Wonder Woman in the Making
I wish I could pull off one of Maria Piana’s futuristic show stoppers. I have a feeling that confidence should be something you have lots of, if you want to be able the carry these wearable silver sculptures around your body. Give me a day or two, and I’ll tell you if it’s something I can get to. Ummm, I guess not, I’m too shy… but you know the feeling you get when seeing someone wearing the most amazing thing but you know it will look like a train wreck on you? I guess this is just about right in this case :)

Featured.Shopping Break| Handpicked by me.

If I could buy one bag per day I think I would be the happiest girl on earth. But then again, where would I store it all? Well, Who am I kidding? My MR or my bank manager will kill me, the question is which one will catch me first ;)
Enough with that, lets move on to some happy thoughts. As I’m trying to figure out which bags to pack for my coming vacation in Japan (according to my better half, the answer is one!) I think any one of these bags will look SO good while exploring the streets of Tokyo: Steve Madden’s Crossbody Bag . TopShop’s Spot Color Block Clutch . ASOS’ Miller Bag . Clare Vivier’s La Grande Pochette In Pink . ASOS’ Sonnet Clutch Bag

Moran Porat | Tracing A Precious Stone
When it comes to accessories, I have only one rule, the bigger the better! With that being said, I’ve never been one of those who fantasizes about diamonds or any other precious stones. For a while now, Moran Porat (who a while back, made it to my “ones to remember list” during graduate shows) is playing with the concept of “precious stones”. With her own unique take, Moran only highlights the form of the stone… If you need to see a big shiny rock, I guess you should move on but if you, like me, prefer an uber smart creation hanging on your ears or neck, Moran’s stones are the ones for you!

Student Break | Shani Kraset | Black and White Fossils
About a month ago, Galit Barak, one of the most enthusiastic and nicest students I have ever met invited me to the presentation of “Textile Jewelry” at the Shenkar College. One of the projects that excited me the most was the black and white world of Shani Kraset, a third year student at the Textile Design Department. Parts of old watches and leather like fabrics where the setting for dealing with dimension of time, reflection and the element of beauty, using symmetry and geometry. I wish you could have seen this garden of beautiful fossils with your own two eyes!

NY Break | OJ x DI | Illustrated Silver
I know it’s my bad, but I discovered the world of Oliver Jeffers not so long ago, however I did carry the business card of Aaron Ruff aka Digby & Iona all the way from NYC during my last visit.
And now… Oliver’s favorite characters (remember, he is a mega children’s’ book author and illustrator) came to life under the hands of the super talented jeweler, Aaron. It’s a match made in the illustrated heaven! No need to say more, head to their fun OJxDI for some more childish spirit.
The Paper Plane out of “The Great Paper Caper”, The Boy and The Penguin out of “Lost & Found” and other cuties are just around the corner.

Shiri Hyman | Bag It!
Shiri Hyman lives in a world of her own… It’s like she doesn’t need anyone other than her super wicked brain! Seriously, whenever I bump into her designs, I know they all have the Hyman’s magical touch. It’s like she puts her spell on things… A while back I saw her uber chic woodish bags and since then I wanted to share them with you. Luckly for me, just the other day I bumped into them while visiting Marmelada. BUT, the bad news is, shiri decided that it was time to move on to other exciting fields which involve home decor, the Hyman style. All that is left to do is wish her lots of luck while remembering the good times we shared ;)

World Break | Carissa Wen-Hsien Hsu | Tracing Your Emotions
“Between”, by Carissa Wen-Hsien Hsu, caught me off guard. In her own sensitive way, Carissa is experiencing the art of measuring relationships. Not sure what to make of it yet, but there is something quite touching and vulnerable about it… By embroidering moments, it’s almost like you leave your own mark or even trace in the world… For some reason, I feel a bit gloomy and full of emotion while thinking about it.

Featured.Shopping Break| Handpicked by me.

Sometimes it feels like I have the best job ever, but at other times… It’s really difficult visiting site after site, shop after shop and seeing all these beautiful objects that I just have to have. Heartbreaking, I know! I need to do something about this sudden urge to constantly buy stuff. Well, my immediate action will be makeing a wishfull thinking list for stressfull times but till then I will post my favorite must have of the week (don’t kid yourself, it will be mostly or 99.9% bags).
1. Taplin Kaleidoscope for the love of bright colors and prints // 2. Part Time Tote for letting my magazines feel special // 3. Riley Tote for my sudden obsession with polka dots.

World Break | Giia | Felted Joy
Giia aka Guldal Aydinli is a woman of many wonders. She is a furniture and interior designer by day and a wicked felt designer 24/7. As I made my frequent visit to her Etsy Shop I discovered her STUNNING felted rings and oh my lord of the rings, I need each and every one of these rings!
Oh, and there is some rad neck pieces like this yellow bundle of joy ;)

Liora Taragan | Parrot Bling
I don’t know what it is with me and feathers. I keep coming back to them whenever a jewelry piece is involved and I can’t be any happier!
SO, finding out about Liora Taragan’s Feathers Collection, made it crystal clear to me, feathers are my new everything!
I have to add that there is a lot more to Liora Taragan, in fact she is a heck of a fashion designer and you can read a bit more about her right here.
If you don’t mind, I’ll keep on drooling for a bit…

Noga Berman | Shiny Happy Mini Creatures
When your parents go by the name Nirit and Avi Berman, aka the famous jeweler couple, there is no escaping your heritage. While studying industrial design, Noga Berman clearly had a strong attraction to the tiny and shiny little parts in her life. Her brand new NAIVE is a series of sterling silver lapel brooches of these cute little figures. Who doesn’t need a dash of cuteness in his jewelry box? I can certainly use some ;)

World Break | HiNGE Dept. | Liisa Hashimoto | Metal Garden
This Pinterest addiction leads to good things! While cruising my stream I ran into Liisa Hashimoto’s magnificent world of lively metal. I found a world of remarkable details and hope you won’t find me crazy but… it almost felt like Liisa was the one responsible for a metallic fantasy world or some kind of metal Disney Channel.
And you know what the most amazing thing is? This brilliant designer is responsible for some of the craziest shoe jewelry I’ve ever seen! Now it’s my time to stop talking and leave you to explore the wold of Liisa Hashimoto.
