I”m such a fan of textile designer Tali Furman and that’s why my April Illustrated Break is so special!
Tali’s star dust print goes hand in hand with her blueish mood… “When I feel self doubt and overwhelmed I just sit in my bright room (a rare thing in London), grab my Wacom pen and just follow my heart. It’s like a puzzle but in the end something beautiful comes out. I just have to give it time.”

2013. Yep it’s a brand new year and a brand new IllustratedBreak. When Roni Brot sent the August IllustratedBreak she sent not one but two illustrations and I just couldn’t leave one behind so… “My inspiration comes directly from my personal, everyday experience and I find the creation process therapeutic.” To me it sounds like a DesignBreak! Roni and her monochromatic world is my January Illustrated Break.

Zohar Winer amazed me with her blossoming graduation project and I had no doubt in my mind that she’ll be my December Illustrated Break and so here she is! In her illustration, Zohar describes so beautifully a moment that we all know so well, the moment you feel you have to pause, scream and let it all out: the routine, the load, the tension.

When I think of Yael Korotich, I always imagine dreamy and nature like patterns and so… my November Illustrated Break by the textile gal is exactly that! The creative in her looks for inspiration everywhere and her brain never pauses, but at some point, when she is in the right mindset and complete silence, she just stares. From there the road to abstract views of nature is super fast.

Noga Harari is a bunny lady. It’s true, she loves these little fuzzies with all her heart and it shows in her crazy illustration ;) “I’m fascinated by hair and creatures covered with it. When I draw, it’s like watching the lines dance and form new creatures. I guess for me, the illustrated lines are like threads that tie together a new world”. Noga and her mesmerizing black lines are my October Illustrated Break.

While the TV was on with the Olympics in full swing and the energetic gymnasts did their thing in the background, Avital Manor started to work on my September Illustrated Break. Altought she wanted to send a happy pattern, along came the sardine fish and with them a slightly gloomy feeling. Nevertheless, I’m loving her unique point of view.

Ziv Arbel is one of the lucky ones, who can do it all: design, illustrate, animate… and basically what ever you throw her way. “I like illustrating shadows and their lights, discovering the full image from just looking at hints of it. Shira Barzilay and her mad sense for fashion is my April Illustrated Break. Shira doesn’t really need a Design Break cause her days and nights are full of design. As one of Israel busiest fashion illustrators it only makes sense that her illustration is a take on Yves Saint Laurent’s saying “fashion fades, style is eternal”.
