The first time I came across one of Kulla Design creations was when I bumped into their brilliant Tris Collection. Basically, these girls, Adi Shpigel and Keren Tomer, took plastic shutters and transformed them into the most amazing home accessories. Since then, I’ve been keeping my eyes on them and they don’t disappoint! Working with all the random objects and materials that surround our everyday life isn’t an easy task, but for some reason that’s what works best for these two. The power couple Gilli Kuchik and Ran Amitai (aka Bakery) is one of my fav Israeli duos! There I said it :)
Their latest adventure is called Woodini, which made me like it from the gecko. Maybe the fact that a few days ago I visited Tokyo Disneyland, is what’s causing me to imagine roller coasters wherever I go and that is exactly what I see in this super cool stool. You can read all the serious technical details behind it right here but in the meanwhile leave it to me to enjoy the ride!

Is it already time for another Milan Design Week? I had so much fun writing about all the amazing designers last year! This time I’ll have to see it all once I get back from my trip. I had to share with you the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design 2012 Design Bonanza. If you are among the lucky ones who’ll be visiting the streets of Milan and the corridors of Ventura Lambrate during Milan Salone Internazionale del Mobile, you’ll be able to see at first hand 50 super exciting projects from the students of the Industrial Design Department. BTW, the curators behind it all are: Prof. Ezri Tarazi, Haim Parnas and Galit Shvo.

If you are one of those people who know how to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, there is a big chance that you bumped into one of Iris Zohar‘s hug mugs. Yep, Iris is the one responsible for Max Brenner‘s super lovable mugs. The thing is, Iris has this unique ability to do it all, from designing for some of the biggest companies in Israel to giving back to society with her involvement with minorities and the less fortunate.

Lately I’m all about Anemones and Buttercups and every Friday I buy a bunch of them.
Shira Keret, graduated in 2010 and since then I see her name all over. When I first bumped into her hand blown glass “Purple Avocado”, my heart missed a beat. I can see clearly how it can be a perfect fit for my blooming flowers. Besides, there is nothing like adding another super chic vase to my never ending collection. PS, “Purple Avocado” is part of Talents Design‘s 2012 “Still Life – Still Alive” collection. PPS, it all began with Shira’s Paraphrase project.

For a moment I felt like it’s the Nir Meiri blog ;) Maybe the fact that I met Nir for the first time after a long email affair, confused me.
Anyways, the fact of the matter is that I’m one of Nir’s biggest fans. You can refresh your memory here, here oh and here too. The fact that he doesn’t know how to slow down makes things even more interesting. Nir’s latest creation is Bamboo version of his super brilliant concrete plates that I love so very much! His clean lines are getting slicker and slicker by the minute! Just a little warning, I’m sure you’ll be reading about Nir once the Milan Design Week approaches. Just sayin!
