  • Monsieur Hublot | Detail
Leather, metal, wood pulp and recycled materials are all behind Stephane Halleux’s sculptures.
I’m not sure why I just came across his imaginative and surprising world only now. Stephane’s Monsieur Hublot is my favorite out of the bunch. In the near future you’ll be able to watch this character come to life in a short film.

Castro | Knitting Tel Aviv

Oh my, I’m in love with the cutest and sweetest commercial ever by Castro, which is called Hot Cardigans.
Usually I don’t tend to get excited by commercials but this one touched a soft spot and I had to share it with you all. Even though it seems like fall is not that close, the castro team made me feel it’s just around the corner.

Gal Shkedi | Character Design 101

When you put together grays and yellows you get my ultimate color palette. The other day, at one of my regular visit to Gal’s flickr page I ran into Roomiez.com animation.
It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Gal Shkedi’s characters design and this time with the help of Idan Vardi they came up with this lovely creation.

I’m lost for words… It’s been a while since I’ve been so touched by a movie… I mean a short movie… an animated one.
You have to watch it more than once. The second and third time are even better! Trust my on this one! Just click here.
Eran is a 2010 Graduate of the Visual Communications Department of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.

BananaMoon | Merav Shacham | Spring In Your Heart

By now you know that I have an artistic crash on Merav Shacham and as I promised, here is her latest creation, a music video for Panic Ensemble, Spring In Your Heart. I love those little creatures! Merav told me that her main goal was to always find new ways to make the obvious look different even if in the smallest details. Merav spent sleepless nights drawing each and every frame and with the help of Ariel Levental you can all enjoy this fantasy world yourself. From August 2008 till March 2010… It was worth every minute… enjoy the ride!

Yaniv Shimony | Dreamy House

It’s always nice to see the behind the scene world. When I bumped into Yaniv’s sketches that led to this commercial I was very excited.
To tell you the truth, I’m loving them way better than the final outcome. I’m a sucker for hand sketches so…
In Yaniv’s blog you can view lots of behind the scenes.
BTW, this commercial is for Tnuva’s milk and dairy products.
FYI, Tnuva means fruit or produce in Hebrew.

Student Break | Guy Koenigstein | Independence State Of Mind

Today is Israel’s independence day.
For some reason I feel like Guys project, Family Stories, deals with something that is familiar to most Israelis. It made me think about my own family and my own comfort zone here in Israel.
BTW, this is Guy’s graduation project from the Man and Public Space Department of Design Academy Eindhoven.

NY Break | Sam O’Hare | The Sandpit

1 NYC, 5 days, 35,000 stills and a lot of patience!
If you heart NYC as much as I do, I’m sure you would love to watch this short film. The locations are very familiar, but it made me look at them as if for the first time.
Miniature never looked any better!
You can read about the making of – here.

Eatliz | Guy Ben Shetrit | The girl and the huge toad

I had to share with you guys this amazing music video, which was directed by the talented Guy Ben Shetrit! I just ran into it and I can’t believe it was made two years ago. Where have I been?!
Anyways, I love everything about it.
Oh, I almost forgot, “Hey” is a Sci-Fi Fantasy journey about a little girl with a special pet friend – a huge toad.
You can read a English friendly article about the making of here and a Hebrew friendly article here.
