I know it’s my bad, but I discovered the world of Oliver Jeffers not so long ago, however I did carry the business card of Aaron Ruff aka Digby & Iona all the way from NYC during my last visit.
And now… Oliver’s favorite characters (remember, he is a mega children’s’ book author and illustrator) came to life under the hands of the super talented jeweler, Aaron. It’s a match made in the illustrated heaven! No need to say more, head to their fun OJxDI for some more childish spirit.
The Paper Plane out of “The Great Paper Caper”, The Boy and The Penguin out of “Lost & Found” and other cuties are just around the corner.

NY Break | Allison Patrick | Typographic Light

Did you see my NY Break? It’s been way too long so the minute I stumbled upon Allison Patrick’s rad lighting pendant lamps, I knew it was time to have some extra delicious New York flavor around here. It feels like Allison gives the term “crafty person” a new meaning. She is crazy talented and her lamps are so pretty! I’m sure there are piles and piles of new designs over there just waiting to come out.

This lady has what it takes when it comes to making drop dead gorgeous jewelry!
I can’t stress enough how rare it is to find simple yet unique pieces of heaven out there and Fay knows the right mix of shapes, materials and simplicity.

Re Jin Lee is one of my idols. Not many people can work beautifully with the white and simple aspect of design.
On the other hand, not many will say something like: “I purposely kept the design very minimal so it goes well with any other tableware”.
When I need a quite moment, I wander into Re Jin’s Bailey Doesn’t Bark web site. She has it all from tableware to jewelry and stationary. The fact that she shares her process and behind the scenes makes me love her even more! Thank you Re Jin for all the beauty you bring to the world!

NY Break | For Me, For You | Kate Miss | So Long New York…

I guess friendship bracelets happen all over the world.
For Me, For You jewelry collection is Inspired by the friendship bracelets of Kate Miss’s childhood. The necklaces are made of handwoven Japanese cotton thread.
Just before Kate makes her big move to LA, leaving NY behind, I had to share with you her Bits Of My Weekend, which made me love NY even more (if it’s even possible) with her memorable and personal photographs.

NY Break | Sweet Fine Day | As sweet as it gets

I just love team effort and especially one that is all about the family.
Jenna Park is the creative director and her husband Mark is the pastry chef behind the Brooklyn confectionery company, Whimsy & Spice.
She photographs, styles and designs all the creative efforts behind the brand. Their Sweet Fine Day is a photo blog and what a photo blog it is! The photographs are eye candy and you can purchase the most artistic ones at their Etsy shop. The first time I laid my eyes on Alyssa’s milky world was while visiting the Brooklyn Flee a year ago. I kept my fingers crossed but didn’t find her there this time. Alyssa has this amazing ability to turn each vessel into piece of art!

NY Break | HapticLab | Emily Fischer | Map your hood

NYC is the only place I can find my way around in a heart beat. Once I buy my weekly MetroCard I’m good to go but the minute I get back home even fifty GPS navigators won’t help me.
HapticLab’s soft map is the perfect addition to my fall mode. All I need is to choose one of the NYC Neighborhood blankets and I’m set.
What can I say, as someone who loves using map grids in her designs, HapticLab map is a must for me.
