When you mix two of my all time favorites, in this case typography and accessories, there is no way I’m gonna pass the opportunity to write about it even if it was created back in 2010. Roni Pinkas, the young designer behind all this typographic party, created it all as part of her graduate project at the Jewelry Design Department at Shenkar College.
I don’t know what about you, but I feel like I can wear each and every piece. Old typewriting keyboards, wooden letters, metal letters, contoured letters… I really don’t care, as long as it’s typolichius I’d be happy to wear it!

Lately I keep on discovering so many exciting designers and their pieces from years ago… I hope you don’t mind me writing about all these findings just now.

Dana Mantzur and her Bauhaus jeweleries made me smile. It’s almost everyday that I pass by Tel Aviv’s White City buildings and now discovering some of them as jewelries make me love them even more. Well, it’s like having a close close bond with this super exciting city.

Is it already time for another Milan Design Week? I had so much fun writing about all the amazing designers last year! This time I’ll have to see it all once I get back from my trip. I had to share with you the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design 2012 Design Bonanza. If you are among the lucky ones who’ll be visiting the streets of Milan and the corridors of Ventura Lambrate during Milan Salone Internazionale del Mobile, you’ll be able to see at first hand 50 super exciting projects from the students of the Industrial Design Department. BTW, the curators behind it all are: Prof. Ezri Tarazi, Haim Parnas and Galit Shvo.

After ParTEA. Such a brilliant tittle for a beautiful collection! Yael Reshef, a 2011 graduate of the Fashion Design Department at Shenkar College flew under my radar but luckily I found her.
Yael began her journey with the English afternoon tea ceremony and the blue glazed porcelain tableware that is identified with it. I’ve already seen porcelain being used as an accessory before, but there is something quite unique and pure in the way Yael used it as her main element. Sometimes you should let the material do the talking…
Speaking of tea time, did you hear about this place? I need to go there…

About a month ago, Galit Barak, one of the most enthusiastic and nicest students I have ever met invited me to the presentation of “Textile Jewelry” at the Shenkar College. One of the projects that excited me the most was the black and white world of Shani Kraset, a third year student at the Textile Design Department. Parts of old watches and leather like fabrics where the setting for dealing with dimension of time, reflection and the element of beauty, using symmetry and geometry. I wish you could have seen this garden of beautiful fossils with your own two eyes!

The minds behind Bezalel Art and Design Academy out did themselves! With Facebook launching it’s timeline, Bezalel is also introducing it’s very own artistic timeline. You can find lots of inspiration from their students and recent graduates but above all you can spend hours and hours starring at all the projects you didn’t know about untill now. FYI, this timeline is Hebrew friendly but I’m pretty sure you can find your way easily.
