Eva Avidar | Still Cockroach

I’ve beem planing on visiting the Six Biennale of Israeli Ceramics for a while now.
Lets be clear on one thing, I hate cockroaches but… this little creature is briliant and the fact that I know it’s made out of clay maks me love it!
I don’t know much about the artist, Eva Avidar, so if anyone can share some info I’ll be happy to hear it all.
You can get in touch with Eva here:

Kobi Perez | X-rayed Animals

If you ever wondered how a dog or a cow skeleton looks like, now you even can wear it as a brooch. This is what happens when you leave an X-ray sheet around Kobi Perez. The guy knows how to take an ordinary idea and transform it into an extraordinary accessory.

World Break | Judy Kaufmann | Here Kitty Kitty…

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not that crazy about cats… However, looking at Judy Kaufmann’s Cats I can see there is more to it. I find myself starring at their playful and curvy figures. Which is your favorite animal? I for once, would have to get back to you on that one.

Lama Studio | Run Lola Run

A while back I fell in love with this ceramic radio. I started digging and found the magical world of Eitan Gig and Ofer Dahan. A world of joy and great imagination. Their latest creation is a chandelier depicting deer galloping out from a central point, creating the idea of “mass escape”. “The choice of a deer is not a coincidence. It is inspired by the classic stuffed deer head that traditionally decorates the walls of hunting lodges. However, it is given a contemporary, humorous interpretation through shape, technology and material.” The guys are working on their new website, so add their link to your favorites and check back real soon.

Nir Meiri | Wooden Safari

I’ve been following Nir’s footsteps for a while now. He has an effortless touch in his designs and a wicked mind.
Nir’s “Jungle Clocks” made me think about my childhood. Back then it was all about the simple materials and wooden shapes who played a big role in my playground haven.

Student Break | Shimrit Lugasi | Your average black crow

Now that’s what I call dramatic jewelry!
One of the things that excites me the most is discovering an accessory that was designed with unconventional materials. That was the case when I bumped into Shimrit’s feathery (carbon fiber) creations! She had the image of a black crow in mind when she started her proses.
FIY, Shimrit is a 2010 graduate of the Jewelry Design Department of Shenkar College of Engineering and Design but you already knew that, right?!

Student Break | Noa Himelfarb | Playing with dirt

Would you like to step back in time and play with dirt yourself? Noa surely thought it would be an exiting thing to do and I have to agree with her.
Her animals caught my attention at the first sight. “MuZoo are toy animals made of soil with accessories that distinguish and enhance the characters. It renews the interaction with natural materials and turns soil into a toy”.
BTW, Noa is a 2010 graduate of the Industrial Design Department of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.

Student Break | Shir Gur | Stop and Smell the Roses

Shir is a 2010 graduate of the Fashion Design Department of Shenkar College of Engineering and Design.
I love the way Shir spiced things up and added all these little creatures and flowers to her mix. I’m a flower girl in heart but for me they souhld stay in a vase. Shir’s point of view made me second guess my belief.
“For me, flowers symbolize spiritual enjoyment and the beauty of the moment. As life is temporary and nothing lasts forever, I invite you to take a moment with me, grasp it at its peak, hold it close to your heart and enjoy its beauty.”
