Yael Ben-Zvi | Precious Memories

When Yael wrote me, I immediately started thinking of all the pictures that I’ll send her in order to have my own paper-cut collection… It’s amazing how much patience and dedication one person can have. I adore the fact that Yael does a custom cut!

Since I just lost a beloved member of my family and this week turned into a sad and emotional week for me I felt this is an appropriate post for a day like today.
I know you’re looking at us from above. Rest in peace.

Naomi Shiek | A walk in the woods

At this time of the year you can find lots of calendar design all over the blogosphere. I figured I’d share one of our own Israeli creation and add it to the wonderful variety out there. I’m talking about the calender made by the much talented Naomi Shiek whom I wrote about not long ago. Naomi creates each calendar by hand and as each sheet is turned, more of the papercut is revealed, like a walk through the woods. I’m so impressed by her devotion and her level of perfection!
If you want to know more about Naomi’s world of paper you can read it all here.

Naomi Shiek | Paper Cut

I’m obsessed with all things paper for as long as I can remember so I couldn’t be happier when I discovered Naomi’s work of art. What an amazing eye for details this girl has! You can find her work on her Etsy Shop and if I were you I wouldn’t miss her blog.

Some of my favorite paper links:
Zoe Bradley, Yulia Brodskaya, Charles Clary and hand cut maps by Karen m. O’leary. I have to mention the Mad museum’s “Slash: Paper Under the Knife” exhibition. My wish list: Papercraft and Paper: Tear, Fold, Rip, Crease, Cut books.
