Are you in favor of tights and leggings? Is it your thing? I’m not really sure if this piece of clothing is right for me BUT… After bumping into the world of Zohara and seeing in person the illustrations that one can wear on her legs I think there is still time to rethink it all over. Oh and the great thing about it all is “every year a select number of Artists from around the world bring a different perception of art to the collection.” There is nothing I like more than a bunch of talented designers working on a joint project. FYI, the mind behind Zohara is Dana Rapaport. {Photos by Zohar Ron} www.zoharatights.com
When Gal Shkedi, one of my favorite illustrators, wrote me about his new adventure, “FunTalk“, I had to check it out for myself. I admit, I’m not that app progressive. I only use the basics like Shazam, Instagram , WhatsApp, iHeartRadio… well, I’m sure you get the picture. Anyways, I downloaded it and… can’t wait to share it with my little brother. I’m sure he’ll playing with it for ages. He lives for these kind of Apps. “FunTalk instant voice messenger let’s you say it your way with avatars, themes and funny voices! It’s fast, easy and most of all fun to voice chat with your friends one-on-one and in groups.” You should try for yourself! So, are you ready for a FunTalk of your own? :)
Sometimes, I find myself daydreaming about a book i just read and seeing myself living in it’s imaginary world. It’s not that strange, right? When, Lee Schein, a fresh graduate of the Visual Communications Department at WIZO Haifa Academy of Design and Education, Sent in her wild creatures I discovered her imaginary world of monsters with their super chic clothes and impeccable style. Other than that, Lee uses only black as her weapon, giving black new meaning as a colorful color. BTW, I forgot to mention that as part of Lee’s journey she created textile accessories. Told you they are stylish creatures! www.leeschein.com
| You didn’t think I’ll let this day slip by without mentioning the Bastille Day, right? So… I am a bit conflicted when it comes to NYC vs Paris, someone who actually did something creative to help me! Well, creative is not the right word, lets try ah-mazing, wicked, smart, funny… you name it. Are you a NYC or Paris person? I guess you have to take a side. Well, you know where I stand ;) I wrote about it not once but even twice but I still adore Paris. Thank you Vahram Muratyan for your Frenchilicous creation. | There is something quite intriguing and mysterious in Lital Gold’s never ending burst of colors and shadows. Since graduating last year from the Textile Design Department at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, Lital is in drive mode! She keeps on going and going and with each and every sketch I get another glimpse of her inner soul (quite deep, I know but… that’s the way I feel). You can get in touch with Lital here: gold.lital {at} gmail {dot} com

I’ve been waiting for this moment ever since I wrote about the greenish duo Rabtus & Cumber, then again, who can resist a half-rabbit half-cactus (Rabtus) and a pickle (Cumber)? Not me! Handsome Fellas a.k.a Miki Mottes and Ziv Meltzer are the power couple behind this drop dead green mobile game Stop The Vom. “Rabtus is stuck on a swing (it’s all Cumber’s fault, they always trick each other!) and your goal is to tilt your device to stabilize the swing and prevent Rabtus from vomiting. With Papinoy, Tantzaba and other good and bad creatures you’re gonna have to tap or avoid tapping, it ain’t gonna be easy!” So… Ready, Set, Stop The Vom!
Imagine the Whitehorse dinner table being served with Aedriel Moxley’s fun and festive dinnerware. I can picture it ;) There is no better way to celebrate the 4th of July. If you party, you should do it with a bang. BTW, have I mentioned I’m big on cupckaces and bright colors lately? Happy 4th to you, my sweet american readers. Have a sunny and colorful day! {This is an Italian World Break} You can get in touch with Aedriel here: hello {at} aedriel {dot} com
When you take your graduation project to the next level the sky is the limit. That’s what happed to Shira Roginkin just after graduating from the Fasion Design Department at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. I’ll tell you all about her ah-mazing accessories line in the near future but first I want to share with you her colorful and powerful illustrated world. When drawing, Shira thinks about the world and how it exists outside our minds. Her desire is for people, who look at it to have a “moment” and reflect upon their own experiences and emotions. {DesignBreak found Shira here} You can get in touch with Shira here: shira.rog {at} gmail {dot} com
Anna Mirkin, the gal behind An’ka, had nature museums in mind, while making her latest T-shirt collection. The fact that it captures flowers, birds and all kinds of animals behind glass made her reflect on life and the modern lifestyle with it’s conventions. Anna named it all “Natural history of you” and I must admit that it makes me appreciate her trying to deal with some heavy and emotional stuff while working on a T-shirt collection. Thank you for this one Anna! {DesignBreak found Anna at DreedTea} www.anka-anka.com - BTW, don’t miss DreedTea’s High Five! Tip of the Fashion Web. The girls saved me a spot ;)
If you’re like me, and you hear the name Bethan Lloyd Worthington for the first time, prepare yourself for a big treat! Bethan’s hand-painted tableware made me miss a heartbeat. Such an effortless, delicate and mysterious bundle of perfection! It all began with The Wild Places by Robert MacFarlane. “Drawings and paintings in response to this book were led by the notion of early detail map without information on how places connect. I sought to convey something incomplete, isolated, suggestive of the potential for further exploration, and of disappearance.” {Photos by Noemie Goudal} {This is a British World Break} www.bethanlloydworthington.com
Keren Taggar is no stranger here at DesignBreak. It seems like I have a thing for Keren an her shoe drawings… There is no other way to explain this fascination. Lately Keren was asked to draw the shoes for Couple Of’s 2011 Summer Collection. I have to hand it to Shelly and Elon Satat-Kombor, the husband and wife team behind it all, who came up with this brilliant concept! The inspiration behind the collection was Urban Jungle and Keren’s take was more domesticated. She had the porches of Tel-Aviv in mind while playing with her pencils. www.kerentaggar.com
Sometimes all you need is an illustration to brighten your day. That’s what Sagi Ashin’s rhino did to my day. You can read my previous post about Sagi’s magic hands right here. Hope you all have a sunny week. {DesignBreak found Sagi’s rhino here} You can get in touch with Sagi here: sagiashin {at} gmail {dot} com
