NY Break | Allison Patrick | Typographic Light
Did you see my NY Break? It’s been way too long so the minute I stumbled upon Allison Patrick’s rad lighting pendant lamps, I knew it was time to have some extra delicious New York flavor around here. It feels like Allison gives the term “crafty person” a new meaning. She is crazy talented and her lamps are so pretty! I’m sure there are piles and piles of new designs over there just waiting to come out.
BTW, you can read an interview with Allison right here or even visit her blog right here.
Just one more thing, the name behind it all is Zipper8Lighting, that’s right Zipper8Lighting, start memorizing it ;)

Dana Ben Dov | Tales of Times Gone By

Dana Ben Dov, the woman and the golden curls, is one of the nicest most inspiring woman I’ve met in a while. There is something about her and her art, that makes you want to become part of her entourage.
“In my art I work with pieces of life and light. By combining both I give them new life, new light and new meaning.” Don’t know what about you but I’m melting…
Dana lets her imagination lead the way, while composing stunnig light fixtures, piece by piece.

Kulla Design | Light Up Your Table

A while back I wrote about Stools. The 50% sawdust version. “A measured mixture of the two materials is pressed into an aluminum mold and then baked.
The heat creates a homogeneous connection without using any adhesives.” Since then, the girls behind Kulla Design worked on a new addition to their 50% sawdust family of products. I would definitely add those two cuties to my work table any day of the week.
Can’t wait to find out what will be the next addition. I just love it when you get good design in small portions ;)

Israelis@MilanDesignWeek | Jaim Telias | Playing With Leaves

When you take a close look at Jaim Telias’s Alè, you can get lost in all the lights and shadows. It feels like starring at a bright maze.
“Alè is a lamp composed of bi-dimensional modules inspired by the tree leaves. Bending creates 3D petals which generates an infinity of different forms while being joined into one. Thus, every lamp is different.”
If you want to see the lamp in a larger scale click right here.
BTW, Alè means leaf in Hebrew.

Israelis@MilanDesignWeek | DAG DesignLab | Imaginary friends

Tal Mor and Shlomi Azulay have done it again!
Their rock a like salt & pepper shakers made me fall in love with their work before and now their new Fixie Lamps are in a whole new level of cuteness!
It looks like little reptile creatures having a fun dialog with each other or with themselves.
Now seriously, “the series is a collection of LED based lamps which is made out of a flexible material which makes them playful, and offers the users a variety of postures and adjustments.”
