Naama Hofman | The Game of Light
Seeing Naama Hofman’s light objects (as she refers to them) I couldn’t help thinking of the Star Wars’ Lightsaber… Do you see it, or is it just me?
I guess having a husband who loves all things “Star Wars” has something to do with it ;)
In her 005 Collection, Hila used glass, acrylic tube and LED light for creating four different creatures. These objects feel at times 2D objects rather than 3D… and I have a feeling that’s what makes me love them so much… What can I say, I’m a 2D girl!

Israelis@MilanDesignWeek | d-Vision | Design with Unseen Waves

Last year it was the On-Off exhibition but this year it’s all about Ultra Gamma.
d-Vision teamed up with the Bezalel’s M.Des program for a bigger, brighter and colorful installation, which Ezri Tarazi and the young designers put together. The concept behind it all is that “fifty years from now, waves will be discovered at a frequency currently unknown to mankind.”
The lucky ones can still experience the deep dark blue feeling creation at the 50+50 exhibition Salone De Mobile.

BTW, Thank you David Keller for the live update ;)

Israelis@MilanDesignWeek | DAG DesignLab | Imaginary friends

Tal Mor and Shlomi Azulay have done it again!
Their rock a like salt & pepper shakers made me fall in love with their work before and now their new Fixie Lamps are in a whole new level of cuteness!
It looks like little reptile creatures having a fun dialog with each other or with themselves.
Now seriously, “the series is a collection of LED based lamps which is made out of a flexible material which makes them playful, and offers the users a variety of postures and adjustments.”

d-Vision | On-Off exhibition | The Sky Is The Limit

  • Olla
  • Draw me a lamb(p)
  • 97% Soap
d-Vision is a friendly environment for all those fresh industrial design graduates. For their 2010 Salone Satellite show, in the Milan design week, they showed a collection which explores various applications of LED lighting and pushes it towards surprising limits. I have to say that I’m loving this Olla lamp! I’ve loved balloons since I was a child.
I have to hand it to their curator, the gifted Ezri Tarazi who put together an amazing and inspiring collection! His studio web site is a place for endless inspiration. Don’t forget to check it out!
