My San Francisco Break | Bon Jovi Concert, Check! Mondrian Cake, Check!
The minute we landed in SF (more like 2 days in), I booked my Bon Jovi concert ticket. I know, I’m acting like a teenager, but I had to do it. Don’t judge me! Anyways, two weeks ago the day came AND… it was so much fun (!!!) What else? I shared the most beautiful morning with my new illustrator friend (btw, how amazing is her new series here on DB?!). On a different day we visited the SFMoMA, but you know how that turned out. Right? I ate a Mondrian Cake (!!!) Oh… and although I’m not a vintage gal, I had check the Alameda Flea Market. It was an experience, plus we got to sail away and admire SF from afar.

Sivan Askayo | One Way Ticket to Lisbon
I missed writing posts about (1 | 2 | 3 | 4) my fave travel photographer Sivan Askayo. That’s why it’s the perfect time to share with you a glimpse into her latest journey to… LISBON!
To be honest, whenever Sivan tells me about her next destination I know deep in my heart that I’ll be following her foot steps sooner than later. Anyways, if Lisbon is on your wish list (it has to be!) here are some of my favorite Lisbonian posts by Sivan: My express travel guide to Lisbon . Laundry galore in Lisbon . The lisbonnaire flair . Pharmacia restaurant.
One way ticket, here I come!

My San Francisco Break | Too Good to Be True
Besides having a bad cold for the past couple of days, the last two week were the best so far…
We’ve been exploring the city like true pros and I like that feeling! So let’s see… of course we had to see a Giants’ game (not sure if that will happen again). After visiting the brand new Museum of Craft and Design (this one was my favorite part) we discovered our home away from home aka Chocolate Lab, the most ah-mazing place on earth! I got to spend an amazing afternoon with my new bestie, touring her favorite design stores around The Mission. Oh and we also had super sunny and extra fun Santa Cruz Sunday!

My San Francisco Break | Too Much Food Too Little Time
Looking back on the past two weeks, I wasn’t really sure why they flew by so fast. There are so many things that I want to do, and probably some that I don’t even know about.
Other than trying to find my place in this big city, I spent my days with some pretty amazing new friends. Found the best cupcake I tasted so far. Visited the Farmer’s Market during the middle of the week and then during the weekend with my better half (he is the best, btw!). We felt like true Americans, when we ate really amazing burgers and fries (Liron, thx for all your brilliant foodie tips!). Oh and we visited Sonoma for the first time!

My San Francisco Break | A Breeze of New Friends
I kinda love updating you with My San Francisco Breaks! These past weeks were all about meeting some new and exciting people. The first one was an Israeli graphic designer, the second was another Israeli illustrator (thx, Ziv!) and well… there was a third (which is French) and there were also four and five. Other than that, I ate for the first time bread pudding (I’m not sure what I think about it), placed my first Piperlime order (Hi there, pretty spotty shoes!), bumped into so many beautiful street art paintings and… went to an Alicia keys concert! FIY, you can always join me for a daily dose of SF breeze on my instagram feed.

My San Francisco Break | Macarons and New Ombre Kicks

So… What have I been up to for the last two weeks? Well, I’ve been busy looking for my new favorite dessert place and I’m pretty sure that today I finally found it (thx, Victoria!). Also, I have a feeling I found the perfect macaron shop (if you think otherwise please tell me!). Besides that, I found myself in Sausalito for the first time and yet again had a seagull moment. What else? I found the most beautiful leaf concrete floor just around the corner from my place and Oh… you’re gonna love this… I made it to the gym after being away for almost five years (!!!) I guess it only happened thanks to Nike’s yellow ombre kicks ;) Shallow, I know!

My San Francisco Break | Furniture and Food for Thought

It’s been almost two weeks now that I haven’t written and published posts each and every day like I normally do and I hate the feeling! I know I can blame it on the relocation but I won’t…
Living in the city (since Saturday) feels like a dream. The apartment is still pretty much empty (hi there, Night and Day sofa. You’ll be mine soon!) but all the furniture is on it’s way. Between visits to Ikea, CB2, Create & Barrel, West Elm and back to CB2 I discovered two super cool restaurants (Tacolicious and Cha-Ya Vegetarian Japanese Restaurant) that I intend to visit a lot from now on. Oh, and I feel in love with a wall graffiti! (I know how it sounds…)

My San Francisco Break | I’m Walking on Sunshine

I know I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again… Everyone told me that I should expect a fogy city but all I got up until now is a daily dose of sunshine. I guess I’m going to love it here! My second week was all about blue skies and house hunting and at the end of it we found our dream place (!!!) Other than that, I ate my first (and then second and then third) cupcake at American Cupcakes. I bought these super glittery Madewell flats (and I can assure you that it’s only the beginning…) oh, and I passed the Golden Gate Bridge. What can I say, it’s San Francisco after all.

My San Francisco Break | Looking Back on My first Week in The City

Waking around San Jose and discovering that the sun still shines during winter (Yay!) Understanding that until we find our new home, we’re going to live out of 3 suitcases and with only 10 pairs of shoes… With no laundry machine and no proper coffee maker (I know, life is a bitch). Arriving to San Francisco and although everyone warned me that I’m leaving the sun behind in TLV, she is still smiling at me each and every day ever since. Trying to figure out all the roads and then realizing that I should thank the gods of Waze. Choosing our American phone numbers. Yep, I guess we gonna stay for a while. Exciting is an understatement (!!!)

My San Francisco Break | Strolling the Streets of SF

I just moved to San Francisco and yes I’m still pinching myself every single day (!!!)
Yesterday we wanted to lay back and just stroll the streets and feel like tourists before everything sinks in.
I’ll be sharing with you lots of SF Breaks in the coming weeks and maybe years (who knows…) but in the meanwhile let me leave you with some snap shots I took with my iPhone.
PS. you can follow my instagram for more up to date pics from sunny San Francisco!

Sivan Askayo | Blog for The Road
I’m obsessed with Sivan Askayo’s photographs and by now I have 5 posts to prove it! After sharing with you her photogenic journey all over the globe from NYC (her home base) to Japan to Buenos Aires and even The Caribbeans, I realized that for some reason I haven’t shared with you a very important piece of information, which is Sivan’s personal blog! In her blog you’ll find lots of exciting and sometimes even touching stories from behind the lens. I especially love her Vietnamese posts (1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5) or maybe it’s just beacuse I really want to share with you a few of my favorite pictures from that trip ;)

World Break | Hideaki Hamada | Memories…
The minute I bumped into Hideaki Hamada’s photographs, I couldn’t stop looking and I just had to go through each and every link I could find. So I spent some up close and personal time with Hideaki’s Flickr, Instagram, Facebook and if I could read Japanese I would have read all his Tweets! Doing all this intensive stalking reminded me that I need to finish My Japanese Break series of posts that I started when I returned from Japan, and yes almost six months have passed since then, and I can’t believe it… Anyways, you should definitely stop whatever you are doing and start your very own Hamada journey!

InstagramBreak | I’m a Foodie Now!
This past Sunday I received a message on DesignBreak’s facebook page saying “you’ve been chosen as our instafoodie of the week“. The message came from the people behind the fancy restaurant Raphael. I must admit that I really enjoy snapping pictures of the food I eat and see around me. You probably don’t know, but Raphael is one of the most prestigious restaurants here in Israel, so them choosing me is a super special thing! Well, I guess now My Mr. will have to take not being able to touch his food for the first 5 to 7 minutes more lightly. BTW, if you follow some foodies of your own, write their name down, I’d like to see!

I’m a big fan of artists who don’t take themselves too seriously and I have a hunch that Margarida Girao is one of them. It was my super talented friend Sivan, who introducing me to this bright and funky chica. Margarida isn’t afraid of colors and definetly has a wicked mind, as she puts together the most adorable collages that will make you smile. You can get up close and personal with Margarida on Sivan’s Window or Aisle. BTW, as we speak, Margarida is exploring South America and she has some bad ass photos from each and every place she set her foot in. Trust me, You don’t want to miss it!
