Noa Kedmi | The Textile Whisperer
I kept hearing the name Noa Kedmi all over and I was thrilled when she wrote me and told me about her latest revelation.
As a recent textile design graduate Noa began taking pictures of her fellow graduate’s graduation projects, only then she discovered that photographing textile is exactly what she wants to do for the rest of her life. She knows all the inside secrets so that’s why her photographs tell a different story.
Here is a glimpse of Noa’s pictures of Tal Lebendiger’s “Between the Knots” graduation project.

Student Break | Liron Kroll | Family and Femininity

“High Expectations” is Liron Kroll’s graduation film at the RCA. Liron chose family photographs and dealt with the gap between the idealized photograph and the reality it represents. “The film questions the role of family photography as the key way to form memories and examines the effect it can have on one’s perception of the future.” Liron stresed that “She is interested in the illusiveness of normality and the inherent contradiction in the need to belong to a social structure, but being simultaneously repulsed by it.”
I’m excited to share with you a sneak peek and a behind the scenes footage.

I guess home is where your heart is, although I am not home at the moment…
Anyways, In the latest A5 magazine you can find a wide range of interpretations for the home concept. I find it very intriguing…
On a side note, I’m a big fan of Tali Green and Keren&Golan Studio, the trio behind A5. Their dedication and mad talent is to die for!
Happy independence day from London!

Sivan Askayo | Buenos Aires Like No Other

A lot has changed since I first wrote about Sivan’s photographs.
We became close friends who share our passion for the blogosphere, design, chocolate, NYC, Barcelona and lately even Buenos Aires.
When Sivan visited there, a month ago, I began my day with a picture, a little postcard from the city that I miss and want to revisit so badly. There is nothing like seeing a place you love in the eyes of a gifted photographer.
Here are bits and pieces from her colorful journey.

Yael Ben-Zvi | Precious Memories

When Yael wrote me, I immediately started thinking of all the pictures that I’ll send her in order to have my own paper-cut collection… It’s amazing how much patience and dedication one person can have. I adore the fact that Yael does a custom cut!
-
Since I just lost a beloved member of my family and this week turned into a sad and emotional week for me I felt this is an appropriate post for a day like today.
I know you’re looking at us from above. Rest in peace.
