Student Break | Maya Dekel | Fields of memories

Maya Dekel is a recent graduate of the Textile Design Department at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design.
“The goal of the project is to create an experience for the user. This experience is rooted in a memory of observing a flourishing field, concentrating on its small details. It is a simultaneous experience of open space, breathing and freedom, exploration and surprise found in the details.”

Naama Futerman | Chapter Two

I first saw Naama’s objects here. She designs furniture using disposed objects. “Initially I decided to explore my surroundings and search for disposed objects as the base materials for my work. I was wandering around the city, visiting construction sites and peeking into containers. In my expedition I discovered that people throw away objects not only because they are broken or damaged but also because of the desire to renew and refresh their environment. These, I thought were wonderful working materials.” I look forward to see her next invention…
