World Break | Coni Della Vedova | Spanish Colors

When Coni wrote me about her work, a few weeks ago, I was intrigued by the process behind the scenes and Coni was kind enough to share with us some pics. I love the fact that all of Coni’s work is being done by hand. It looks like you need some muscles to get the job done or as Coni likes to say “it’s the type of work that makes your hands hurt… but it gives you great joy after seeing the printed result!”
At this moment I’m loving Coni’s Do What You Love | Love What You Do print but there is a lot more where that came from at her etsy shop.

Israelis@MilanDesignWeek | Sharon Shalita and Meital Brokas | Nature Blues

I’m gonna wrap things up with the creations of Sharon and Meital, two recent graduates from the Textile Design Department at the Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. The two were inspired by 18th century Toile de Jouy, French designs. These ladies didn’t take the easy path. Meital wove the fabrics by hand while combining silver and gold threads and textile yarns, then Sharon engraved each and every image and finally printed with silkscreen using blue ink. It’s so amazing to think about all the hard and delicate work the duo have done!

Ron Nadel | Tel Aviv in Silkscreen Prints

  • Azrieli Towers | Tel Aviv | 1999
  • Reading Power Station| Tel Aviv | 1937
  • Shalom Meir Tower| Tel Aviv | 1965
  • Ron's work in progress
It all began as a poster for Israel’s Independence Day capturing the essence of the country at its 61st birthday while the main theme was Tel Aviv’s 100th anniversary. Lately Ron made a special adaptation for silkscreen prints celebrating Tel Aviv’s special monuments and I have to admit he makes me want to explore silkscreen prints myself. There is nothing like a lovely two color combination to bright up my day!
