Michal Koren | White Noise

This is a first for me. I discovered Michal’s work after visiting Sigal Ben-David’s Behance page. To tell you the truth, I don’t know which one I like best. I can’t chose! The photographs are a-m-a-z-i-n-g and do justice with Michal’s ceramic creations. I guess this time I’ll let you decide.
On a side note, I’m really curious about Michal’s web-site. It looks promising…
I hope it will be up soon enough…

  • A Rose is A Rose is A Rose
“Inspired by movement throughout my career as a dancer and a video editor, I have found personal expression with clay and through the wheel.
I came across ceramics by chance and quickly was absorbed by the activity that actually fuses all the fields I was previously engaged in. Movement, breathing, rhythm and intuition are my tools, along with technique.”
What can I say, I’m moved by Vered’s way of choosing to follow her heart with movement and simplicity in mind.

Cygalle Shapiro | She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not

  • The transformation
Such a smart concept!
Cygalle’s serving spoons emanate from one basic form. “By breaking off pieces, variety and change are created, handing back to the consumer part of the production process.”
I admit, the name of the project “She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not” made me love it even more :)

Sahar Batsry and Maya Shapira | Short Cuts

I know it’s been only a week since I wrote about Sahar’s work but… I can’t help it.
This set of ceramic tableware was fabricated out of pieces cut from existing mass-produced tableware.
I love the fact that for the first time I can show you pictures that document the process. Thank you Sahar!
At Sahar’s blog you’ll find other exiting objects.

Sahar Batsry | It’s Almost Passover

I’m not a huge Passover fan but when Sahar introduced me to his Volcano I have to admit I loved it!
Volcano is a unique Passover plate made of delicate glass plates set in a specially treated silicon sheet resembling a traditional white tablecloth. This is a surprising piece, binding tradition with innovative materials and structure.
If you want to have your own Volcano all you have to do is just contact Sahar. But, If you are in the mood for some other exiting objects head to Sahar’s blog.

Studet Break | Inbal Aderka | The Plate

Inbal is a student at the Industrial Design Department of Holon Institute of Technology. Her project participated in the “It’s Aperitivo Time” designboom competition. When asking Inbal about the concept she answered: “I tried to get the essence of the tradition aperitif. In Italy, the aperitif is traditionally a drink with a small snack. It is not just food or a drink but a combination of both so I looked for a way to homogeneously combine them”.
What can I say, I heart those plates!

DAG DesignLab | Salt & Pepper Rocks

Tal Mor and Shlomi Azulay say that they aspire to create useful objects which are also aesthetic, innovative and carefully detailed. Well, I think they have done just that with those Salt & Pepper shakers. The silicone coating wraps a plastic container which holds the salt. Squeezing the shaker reveals the holes. LOVE IT!

  • Cookie Surprise
I just adore Efrat’s “Vanilla” take on the traditional paper cupcakes and I love her brilliant “Lock Cup” concept. A cup that is designed for people who share workplace facilities such as a kitchen. The cup has a hole which prevents people from using it. Only the owner of the cup can use his shaped key to close the hole, pour the coffee and enjoy the drink. What a startup! BTW “Take it easy” and “Surprise!” were Featured at designboom “Handled with care exhibition.
